A few quick updates for today:

  • Writing and word count is going well.  I had fun last night tweeting @ratherastory and enjoying her encouragement as we both reached quota.
  • Speaking of quota, I’ve passed the 50% mark, I’m more than halfway to 50K , which is great.
  • I’m giving up on “The Successful Novelist”, on the ride home last night I listened all the way through the section on “plot” and frankly I’m annoyed.  I’m really glad this stuff worked for him, it is clear that it did.  It offers me nothing new and I find it so removed from my reality that it gives me no inspiration, no new ideas and in fact is turning me off writing and that simply will not do.   If anyone reading this has any audible.com recommendations, I’ll be able to consider them!
  • I’m finding I’m really enjoying Nathan Lowell’s Trader’s Tales series (I am currently reading “Half Share”) and I would definitely recommend it to anyone reading this blog.  Go get it!   I might try to review it a bit later this week or the next.
