Day 3 dawns (well dawned a few minutes ago) and so far I’m still on track. I’ve met my second 2K goal. I’ve cruised past 4K without too much anxiety and I’m pleased.
Boy am I glad it’s Friday though. It’s been a long week.
I’ve got my introduction and hook down. I like it.
I’ve got the “as you know bob” issue worked out.
I just wish I didn’t need so much caffeine this morning. I haven’t put any words down yet, which I’m less than thrilled about. I figured posting here would get the fingers moving while the Monster I pounded down gets to work on my brain (I try not to make a habit of drinking energy drinks, but I’ll occasionally allow myself a sugar-free Monster. It’s about the same as two large Timmies double doubles. I wasn’t in the mood for a hot coffee this morning.)
I can’t wait for the weekend. My wife is sick and doing NaNo and we both have some odds and ends to take care of (usual life stuff). We have a sick kitten to deal with (we are fostering a cat and her kittens for a while, it’s been a handful). I think we’ll be canceling a few plans to just nest and rest. I’m looking forward to bigger word count, more time to plan my next steps.
Right now, I have enough meat to sink my teeth into. I can write the next five to ten thousand words without too much straining, but past that? I need to flesh out my outline to see where I’m going. I can’t afford to be lost in week 2. It’s too early to lose the buffer I’m building, besides, it’d be neat to hit sixty or seventy thousand words on November 30th (I won’t be disappointed if I don’t. Fifty thousand is the goal)
Write on!
