This is my daughter making friends at a local community fair.
While I worked hard to get caught up on word count, and that’s going well (I’m slowly catching up to where I should be. I’ll hit 100K on schedule I assure you), it was nice to get out and enjoy the outside world.
I was dubious at first (I’m generally lazy and anti-social) but I am very glad that my wife convinced me to go. We had a great time. Anna had a wonderful time as well, as can be seen in this picture.
It certainly gave me the impetous to go back that evening and pour in an extra 1000 words, which I might not have done without the outing (and the gentle proddings of my significant other).
I’m putting the picture up as a reminder to myself (and to anyone else who may need it) that no matter what we’re trying to do as writers, getting the words down is only the beginning and not the whole story. If we don’t get up once in a while and get out there, we may end up with very little to write about, no matter what you’re writing about.
Alright, back to work.
